The Cup Has Slots for Attaching a Fork or Knife to Prevent the Burning of your Hands When Putting in a Fire or Picking up the Cup.
The L-Handle Canteen Cup Has a Handle That Folds, Before 1910 The Handles Were Fixed. The Cup Is Molded To Fit Over The Bottom Of The U.S. Army's Standard (1) One Quart Canteen. The Cup Was Used As a Boiling Vessel For Water Or For Heating Other Foods Such As Soup. Sometimes the Soldier Would Carry the Cup Hanging From The Canteen Strap Or Haversack Strap When Not In Use.
